Who will not like to visit Hobbiton (Lord of Rings)? Well, we where there!

The tour starts with a short bus ride with an short introduction.

Then we went with our guide for about 1 1/2 hours through the hobbit village. We learned many things, for example that there are two sizes of hobbit houses. If an actor should look big, then the doors were only about 1.3 to 1.4 meters high. To make the hobbits look smaller there are other houses where the doors are almost two meters high doors.

Also interesting is the oak on Bilbo Beutlings house. For the Lord of the Rings, a large oak tree was felled and fixed on the hill above the house.
For “the Hobbit”, a smaller version ws made of metal which took 8 months of work and is still there today.

Then it went through a nice path to the inn “Green Dragon”.

There you can get a drink and take a break for a while before returning by bus.

An amazing experience!
